Scott Bruun, Managing Principal
At Hubbell Communications: Scott Bruun joined Hubbell Communications in 2015, adding to a successful career in business, government and public affairs. At the firm, Scott advises clients on policy, political and public communication strategies while also helping to guide clients’ ongoing success in those areas. Working with business and government stakeholders, Scott brings his contagious enthusiasm and professional skills to help move people together toward common goals and outstanding results.
Background: Scott served three terms in Oregon’s House of Representatives and was twice a major-party nominee and candidate for U.S. Congress. While serving in Oregon’s legislature, Scott focused on tax, health care and economic development issues and was known as a “bridge builder” by legislative colleagues and staff in both parties. In addition to politics, Scott’s background includes Fortune 500 experience, venture capital and executive financial management – including five years as chief financial officer for a large, successful West Coast company. Scott has a bachelor’s degree in political science from University of Oregon and a master’s degree in business from Portland State University.
After Hours: Scott and his wife Alison live near Portland with their two daughters. In addition to his work with Hubbell Communications, Scott is the Advocacy Chair for the Oregon chapter of the American Diabetes Association and also serves on the ADA's National Advocacy Committee. In addition, Scott currently serves on the board for the Oregon chapter of the Theodore Roosevelt Association and the board for the Chartwell Society chapter of the Churchill Centre. Scott is also the executive director of the Chronic Disease Coalition, a national patients' rights advocacy organization.
