The Challenge

Our Client, a fast-growing, multibillion-dollar-global manufacturer, was concerned that their 10,000- employee workforce was not receiving the information they needed to remain focused on the Company’s objectives and aligned with the Company’s core values. Complicating this was the fact that the Company was expanding internationally and had to communicate in at least three different languages to a blue-collar workforce that spent most of their time on a factory floor, not in front of a PC.

The Strategy

After conducting a thorough audit of existing communications policies, procedures and practices, the Hubbell team developed an internal communication program consisting of a wide range of high-tech and high-touch tactics including a quarterly meeting in each factory timed to occur immediately following the public release of the Company’s quarterly earnings. Plant managers were given talking points specifically tailored for each facility that called out the role each had played in achieving quarterly results. Hubbell also produced a video featuring select members of the senior management team highlighting quarterly priorities and company values. The company also installed flat screen TVs in dozens of break rooms throughout their network of manufacturing facilities to broadcast relevant industry news, progress against goals and to recognize employees and reinforce core values.

The Results

This program has received accolades from employees throughout the Company based on feedback from employee surveys.
