Our Clients, a consortium of health care providers and their patients, became concerned about legislation and regulation aimed at shifting the burden of expensive and life-saving treatments away from insurers and onto chronically ill patients. They came to Hubbell for a solution to help turn the tide.
Recognizing the power of grassroots activism, Hubbell formed and staffed a non-profit organization consisting of chronically ill patients in targeted states across the nation. By building a grassroots coalition of patients across the country, Hubbell has been able to share individual stories through earned media across the country. By engaging thousands of affected parties, the coalition has also been able to monitor and quickly mobilize allies in response to public policy that could harm or threaten patients’ rights.
The Coalition is now considered a national leader in patients’ rights and disease advocacy.
