Ward Hubbell, President of Hubbell Communications, just returned from a week in Greece. Here’s what he had to say about the experience:

“I spent last week at the Global Leadership Conference of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO). EO is a 10,000-member global organization of entrepreneurs and business owners. I am honored to serve on the board of the Portland chapter with some of the most imaginative and skilled business owners I’ve ever met. As I soaked in the sun and culture of Athens, Greece, and mingled with 1,100 other entrepreneurs from around the globe, I couldn’t help but notice a very interesting juxtaposition. Here I was in the birthplace of civilization with some of the most forward-looking, innovative and creative thinkers I had ever met. These leaders of their respective EO chapters are building companies, harnessing technology and solving some of the most complex problems of our day. All of this happening in the world’s most ancient city seemed an interesting contrast — until I recalled the lasting contributions of Athens’ original citizens. Maybe the more things change, the more they stay the same.”
